Warwick Gardens - Nuwara Eliya/Haputale
At the edge of a beautifully manicured sprawling garden of emerald green lawn highlighted by bright hued blooms, stands a gracefully, elegant stone manor house. With lines as solid as the green clad mountains that stand watch over it, Jetwing Warwick Gardens has five large bedrooms with splendid views of the lush tea plantations. Once the home of Scottish tea planter the rooms come with balconies and butler services.

A well stocked library and a fabulous movie collection are on hand should you prefer to relax indoors. The gardens are lovely to just laze around in and there are plenty of pathways that you could stroll along breathing in the plantation life. The stunning Hakgala Botanical Gardens and Arboretum is a 35-minute drive from the bungalow and Horton Plains, Sri Lanka’s most elevated national park, is just 35 km away.

Fashioned in the style of a luxurious home stay, there are no set menus at Warwick House. You just chat with the chef and decide on what you would like to eat. You can choose from either Sri Lankan or Western Cuisine. The vegetables and herbs are picked fresh from Warwicks own organic garden. You can choose when you want to dine. The cosy lounge complete with comfy sofas and a lovely fire place is where the guests meet and mingle with and evening drink. Dinner is always a gay affair with guests getting now each other and sharing their experiences. If the concept of dining together with other guests sound daunting you could choose to dine al frescoe..though most guests enjoy the informal dinner setting and chit chat.
