Horathapola Estate, built in the 1920’s is a typically beautiful old fashioned planters bungalow. Though the estate was renovated in 2003 it still maintains its timeless charm, from its lush gardens and wide verandahs to its Dutch period furniture and 4 poster beds.
It is the perfect location for families, leisure travelers and couples looking for a relaxing first or final phase of their stay/tour. Horathapola, consists of 3 Large Suites and a Family Suite all with en suite bathrooms, fans, balconies, verandahs and 4 poster beds together with a 50 foot swimming pool and a Jacuzzi. The Estate also boasts an extensive library with books on Natural Habitats, Heritage and Culture which guests are welcome to make use of.
Horathapola is a fully functional estate that cultivates Coconut, Cashew Nuts, Mango, Pineapple, Spices and Hardwood Trees to name a few. Bullock Cart rides are offered to traverse the 50acres of the estate and see the cultivation. It is in close proximity to the Village, Temples and Local Markets. The beach is approx 30mins away.

Maha Camere The Master Bedroom on the first floor has a large verandah overlooking the pool. An intricately carved king size four-poster bed and other antique furniture under high ceilings make it popular for honeymooners.

Maede Camere Also on the first floor, the family suite offers space for a family of 4 or 5. It consists of a triple room with a king size four-poster bed and a spacious single bed, and a double room with a queen size four-poster bed. Each room has an en-suite bathroom. The two rooms are connected by a large covered sitting area overlooking the garden.

Watte Camere On the ground floor, the fourth room has a king size ebony four-poster and a single brass bed, which makes the room ideal for a family with young children. Extra beds and cots are available on request. A large covered terrace gives direct access to the garden and pool area. This room can, however, be rather noisy if there are people staying in the family suite above. C ots and extra bed available.
